If you have a basement, I think you may have suffered the water penetrating into your basement floor. It’s a headache thing because this is very harmful to your furniture and other stuff on the floor. Even more serious is that it will cause the mold growing or mildew because of the increase of moisture. My suggestion is painting your basement floor to resolve these problems. Now I give you some simple steps to paint basement floor.

Before beginning the painting, you make sure that the surface is prepared. Firstly, use a water hose to wash the floor surface and clean it. After that, give your wet floor some time to dry completely.

Then, you should choose a kind of paint to use. Most people just want to make their basement flooring waterproof, but that’s not enough, the flooring of basement should also be able to resist grease, oil, etc. Here, I recommend people to choose epoxy paints. So you should buy the right kind of paint before real action.

And now, you can take action. Use a roller(not brush, it is not that easy to paint) to paint your basement floor. By the way, your paint need to mix with a waterproof primer which help the paint adhere to the floor surface very well.

You can paint your basement flooring very beautiful and turn it to a multiple-purpose room. Many people are not professional, and their painting may be a little ugly, so I suggest that you should consult a professional or some of your friends who have experienced this kind of jobs.  And I always suggest people do it themselves, no matter if their did that before.
